I am Jamie Lyons, an independent HR consultant.

I am an accomplished multi-sector HR generalist with over 15 years’ experience, working in the private and not-for-profit sectors.

My main areas of expertise include change management, employee relations, talent management, systems and processes.

I undertake senior HR assignments to lead business critical HR projects, providing support through periods of business transformation, including temporary cover for senior HR roles. 

The types of roles that I undertake include HR Director, Head of HR, HR Consultant (or equivalent senior level roles). I can provide my CV on request.

I predominantly work in the London and Hertfordshire areas.

  • Coached senior leaders/SMT to achieve Company goals, troubleshooted, aligned HR strategy; improved financial performance, productivity and employee engagement.

Change management 

  • Embedded new ways of working, HR project lead/support for mega growth, repositioning, cost cutting, restructure and redundancy programmes (individual and collective).

Talent management

  • Managed talent upgrading and succession planning programmes.

Workforce planning

  • Forecasted future needs across resourcing, talent and people priorities.

Employee engagement

  • Carried out annual employee and quarterly pulse surveys.

Employee relations

  • Provided employment advice on disciplinary, grievances, capability, TUPE, absence and redundancy.


  • Outsourced recruitment/created in-house recruitment teams; process mapped and streamlined the recruitment process.

Systems and processes

  • Embedded HRIS, MI/KPI reporting and applicant tracking systems. Streamlined HR policies and realigned Company benefits to improve recruitment, retention and EDI.
